Amazon FBA Margin Calculator

Model per-unit profitability for your Amazon FBA products. Enter your costs below to see gross margin, contribution profit, and the maximum ACOS your product can sustain.

How This Calculator Works

Gross Profit = Selling Price - Product Cost - Referral Fee - FBA Fee. This is your margin before advertising and other variable costs.

Contribution Profit = Gross Profit - Ad Spend per Unit - Other Costs. This is the actual profit (or loss) per unit after all variable costs. It's the number that determines whether a SKU is truly profitable.

Break-Even ACOS = (Selling Price - COGS - Amazon Fees - Other Costs) / Selling Price. This is the maximum ACOS your product can sustain before advertising makes it unprofitable. If your actual ACOS exceeds this number, every ad-attributed sale loses money.

Gross Margin30%+20-30%Below 20%
Contribution Margin15%+5-15%Below 5%
Break-Even ACOS25%+15-25%Below 15%

These benchmarks vary by category and pricing tier. Higher-priced products can sustain lower margins in percentage terms while still generating meaningful per-unit profit. See our full Amazon profitability guide for detailed analysis.

FBA Fee Overview

Amazon FBA fees include a per-unit fulfillment fee (based on product size and weight) plus monthly and long-term storage fees. Standard-size items typically range from $3.22 to $6.00+ per unit for fulfillment alone. Use Amazon's FBA Revenue Calculator to look up exact fees for your specific product dimensions.

Don't forget to include inbound shipping costs, storage fees, and potential return processing fees in your "Other Costs" input above. These can add $0.50-$2.00+ per unit depending on your product category and sell-through rate.
